LEAD PAINT SAMPLING
Sampling of suspect lead-based paint is required prior to having any impact or interaction with the materials, and if the potential for exposure is identified, a plan of action must be developed. The key focus of sampling is to determine the presence and location of the interior and exterior painted/coated surfaces. G2 Consultants is available to provide any level of suspect lead-based paint sampling that a client requires, from a limited sampling of specific materials, to a full comprehensive survey for construction and/or operations and maintenance purposes.
Most projects include multiple potential regulatory compliance components:
- OSHA and worker protection
- HUD housing requirements
- RRP requirements for housing built prior to 1978
- EPA and disposal requirements, including identifying total leachability, also known as a TCLP
G2 is fully licensed in the State of Oregon and Washington to provide the state of art testing, utilizing X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) technology. XRF sampling provides immediate readings of lead content in paint. The use of an XRF can:
- Reduce overall costs of identifying surfaces with lead paint
- Reduce turnaround time on reports
- Provides the results you need to have, whether it’s for planning and budgeting, or responding to an emergency response, when having the results are very time critical
Lead-based paint survey elements include:
- Working with you to develop a clear scope of sampling to ensure that the end product meets your needs.
- Identification of the general distribution of lead-based paints/coatings.
- Clear, concise, and easy-to-read reports.
- Use of licensed personnel with the experience to identify the best approach.
- When bulk sampling is recommended, G2 only utilizies accredited laboratories with strict QA/QC programs in place to ensure quality analysis.
